Liam

Liam

Liam was a stray — wet, hungry and dirty, rescued in downtown Wilmington, NC. Extensive and far-flung efforts were made to locate his owner to no avail. Thereafter, Liam was fully vetted, neutered, groomed and microchipped. He is up to date on all preventatives and vaccines. Liam is regularly professionally groomed once a month. He looks and acts like some kind of Doodle, but we have no idea what kind!
Liam is about 7-8 years old with lots of spunk!!! playful and exuberant, total goof ball who loves life. Liam weighs about 25-30 lbs, but could stand to lose a few of those.
Liam gets along well with other dogs he’s met, and he ignores the cat. He has some over attachment issues to his person and we feel kids would not be a good mix in his daily life.

Liam is house trained but is known to slip up if the weather is really, really scary, or if we don’t get him out soon enough.
Liam obviously was abused (beaten, kicked or struck) in his prior life. He is a sensitive and forgiving soul. After rescue, he became inordinately attached to and protective of his "person". We believe much of that behavior was influenced by foster's feisty and antisocial dachshund-mix, who long has been fiercely protective of that same person. Liam should probably be an only dog so he doesn't have to share the attention.
Liam walks well on a leash but always is on the alert for any “danger.” He needs more leash and walking time.
Liam should be placed in an active household and might do best as an “only dog,” as he is pretty impressionable. He needs daily exercise to help with pent up energy and to keep his weight at a healthy level.
He’s a sweet, goofy, playful little boy in a dog suit who just needs some committed help overcoming his insecurities that have led to overly protective behavior.
