Medical Dog of the Month

Milo

Little Milo was found unconscious and injured on the side of the road. He was rushed to the emergency animal clinic where it was determined Milo probably never lived a good life. He was infested with fleas and parasites, and his life had just gotten worse. It was clear Milo had been attacked by a larger animal due to the large wounds found on him.

Milo was quickly cleaned and clipped with a strong antibiotic started to avoid infection. Countless fleas were picked off and prevention was started to give him some relief from the itching.

Unfortunately, Milo's injuries didn't stop there. It was discovered that the punctures had gone through his intestinal wall and he had a severe hernia. Milo needed emergency surgery to repair the damage that had been done. This surgery was estimated to be another $3000 to the outstanding vet bill, but Milo showed determination to have a better life so surgery was done. Two large incisions were made down both sides to repair the hernia. Milo has been put on strict rest and more medication to relieve the pain.

This is how you can help Milo!

Milo is just one of the countless medical rescues we are called on to take by our veterinarians. Milo's bill totaled $4000 and It Takes a Village Rescue still has about $3000 to pay in order to pay off his emergency needs. Any donated help is greatly appreciated to giving Milo the life he deserves. Please consider donating today at the links below. It truly takes a village in rescue, and we rely on you all to help better the lives of animals who need it.
