Bruce and Betty are two of five dogs the rescue recently picked up. These two were rescued from a horrible backyard breeding situation. In this place they were not given any care which led both to develop severe demodex. For those who don't know, demodex is a parasite that is passed from mother to puppy. If not treated, overtime it can develop into a painful skin infection with sores and lesions. These two have severe demodex that the village is working to help by daily medicated baths, but these two find little relief with the painful condition and yeasty smell.
Bruce has gotten some of the worse from this bunch. Unfortunately, Bruce had to lose his left eye. When we picked Bruce up, half of his eye was hanging out of the socket. The picture and video will not be posted here due to discretionary but is posted on our social media to raise awareness.
Both are recovering over time, but funds are desperately needed to cover the medial expenses. These puppies deserve a quality life where they can run and play with other dogs and have all the love they deserve.
Bruce and Betty are just two of the countless medical rescues we are called on to take by our veterinarians. Any donation is greatly appreciated to giving these puppies the playful life they deserve. Please consider donating today at the links below. It truly takes a village in rescue, and we rely on you all to help better the lives of animals who need it.
